Tappy Toes Co. Updated Policies & Terms

Effective October 1, 2026

A Message from Tappy Toes Co.

Hello, everyone!

After a year of being a small business owner, I’ve taken some time to reflect on what changes are needed to help Tappy Toes Co. continue to grow while remaining affordable, dependable, and sustainable. It is truly my passion to care for my clients and their pets, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve our community. Over the past year, I’ve learned that maintaining a sustainable business is essential to continuing to provide the quality and affordability that so many of you have come to rely on. With that in mind, I’m making a few updates to my transportation, in-home grooming, and medical policies beginning October 1, 2026. The good news is that my grooming and pet-sitting service prices are not changing!

Current/Continued Service Pricing

Grooming Services

  • Dogs 39 pounds and under: $25

  • Dogs 40 pounds and over: $35

Pet-Sitting Services

Updated Transportation Policy

The primary change is to my transportation and pick-up policy; because of the location of my home, traveling 20 miles one way can take 30 minutes or more. When I provide both pick-up and drop-off for a client located 20 miles away, I can spend approximately two hours in the car—one hour completing the pick-up and returning home, and another hour completing the drop-off and returning home.

While I’m always happy to help whenever possible, the amount of time spent traveling significantly limits the number of appointments I’m able to accept. In order for Tappy Toes Co. to continue serving our community, I need to make some adjustments to my transportation service.

Previously, roundtrip transportation was available for clients located up to 20 miles away for a $15 transportation fee.

Beginning October 1, 2026, the transportation policy will be:

· Clients located up to 15 miles away: Roundtrip transportation is available for a $15 transportation fee.

· Clients located more than 15 miles away: Transportation may still be available; however, the client will be responsible for providing one-way transportation for their pet, either the pick-up or the drop-off.

o   Mileage beyond 15 miles: An additional $2 per mile will apply for each mile traveled beyond the initial 15-mile service area.

These changes will allow me to spend less time on the road and more time caring for the pets who are entrusted to me.

I truly appreciate your understanding and flexibility as I make these changes. My goal is to keep Tappy Toes Co. affordable, dependable, and sustainable while continuing to provide the best possible care to every pet in my care.

Updated In-Home Grooming Policy

I truly enjoy being able to travel to my clients’ homes, especially when it allows anxious, nervous, or senior pets to be groomed in the comfort and familiarity of their own environment.

I’m happy to provide in-home grooming for dogs who benefit from this type of personalized care. To ensure that each grooming appointment is safe, comfortable, and successful, there are a few accommodations and requirements that clients will need to prepare for in advance.

Bathing Accommodations

For smaller pets under 40 pounds, I have a portable grooming table that also doubles as a bathtub.

For larger dogs, I will need access to one of the following:

  • A shower or bathtub that your pet can safely and comfortably enter and exit. Please note that I can safely lift approximately 110 pounds maximum.

  • A safe outdoor area where your pet can be bathed using a hose.

If your pet is bathed outdoors, my portable handheld dryer has a heating function that can be used during colder months. This can be especially helpful for larger dogs or excessive shedders who may be more difficult to accommodate indoors.

Regardless of where your pet is bathed, they will always be thoroughly towel-dried before being blown dry. This helps ensure that your pet is not left soaking wet while waiting for the drying process.

Requirements for In-Home Grooming

1. Electrical Outlet

An accessible electrical outlet is required so I can operate my portable pet dryer.

  • An outdoor outlet is preferred when grooming because it allows loose hair to be blown or swept away more easily.

If grooming takes place indoors, please provide an enclosed area where the grooming can be completed and the hair can be cleaned up afterward.

2. Water Access

If your pet will be bathed outdoors, I will need access to a water hookup suitable for a hose.

If your pet will be bathed indoors, the shower must have a handheld water function so I can connect my soap-dispensing showerhead.

The shower or bathtub must also be arranged so that your pet can safely and comfortably enter and exit.

3. Dogs With a History of Aggression or Biting

If your dog has a known history of aggression or biting, please let me know before the grooming appointment. You will need to provide your own properly fitted muzzle or be prepared to assist throughout the grooming process. For sanitation and safety reasons, I do not provide or reuse muzzles between multiple dogs. I also want to avoid introducing unnecessary stress or anxiety to pets who may already be nervous, elderly, or uncomfortable with grooming. My priority is always the safety and comfort of your pet.

4. Nail Trims for Small Pets

If your small pet is uncomfortable, nervous, or resistant during nail trims, please let me know in advance.

I can bring a grooming sling to help make the process safer and more manageable. However, every pet is different, and not every pet responds well to a sling. Some pets may be more comfortable having their owner gently hold them while I trim their nails. We can work together to determine which approach is safest and most comfortable for your pet.

My goal with in-home grooming is to provide a calm, safe, and comfortable experience for both you and your pet. Having the necessary accommodations prepared before I arrive allows me to spend less time troubleshooting and more time focusing on your pet.

Thank you for helping me make each in-home grooming appointment as positive and stress-free as possible!

Updated Medical & Vaccination Policy

Vaccination Requirement

For the health and safety of all pets in my care, Tappy Toes Co. requires all pets to be current on their age-appropriate vaccinations before receiving grooming services. I take cleanliness and sanitation very seriously and follow thorough sanitation procedures before and after every appointment. This includes disinfecting grooming tools, equipment, and workstations. However, even with proper cleaning and sanitation, pets can still carry and transmit illnesses. Keeping vaccinations current provides an additional layer of protection for every pet welcomed into my care. I understand that every pet and family is different, and I’m always happy to discuss any questions or concerns you may have regarding the vaccination policy.

My goal is simply to provide the safest, healthiest, and most comfortable environment possible for every pet and every appointment.

About Us

My name is Anna Kiker! I’m a Union County native, born and raised in a barn, on the Family Farm. I was an elite equestrian for 17+ years and gave that up for the “real world”. If I couldn’t ride horses or spend my days with animals, I knew I wanted to help people, which transpired into my working in the Public Education System for the last five years; coming home at the end of the day burnt out with all my loving animals wanting to play influenced me to change my career.

Let me care for your pet(s), like family, because they deserve the best!
